Amazon have announced that Prime Instant Video members now have access to 4K / Ultra HD content at no additional monthly cost.
This is fantastic news for those of you with compatible 4K TV's as up until now there has been very limited Ultra HD content available.
Amazon Prime Instant Video now offers a very cost effective way of bringing 4K content into your living room.
What 4K content is available?
Amazon's own original series Alpha House and Transparent are both available now in 4K with the upcoming comedy series Mozart in the Jungle available soon.
There is also a handful of TV shows coming early in the New Year such as Hand of God, Red Oaks, Bosch and The After.
As you can see Amazon have taken the bull by the horns and are really pushing 4K and by the sounds of it, this is just the start with plenty more to come in 2015.
Amazon are also offering 4K movie content to purchase. They have partnered with Sony Pictures who will provide a host of their blockbuster films in 4K.
These start at £14.99 each and include the following:
- After Earth
- Captain Phillips
- Elysium
- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
- Godzilla
- Moneyball
- The Mask of Zorro
- The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2
- The Da Vinci Code
