Netflix have announced that its first original movie will be the sequel to the multi-Oscar winning Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Michelle Yeoh returns as Yu Shu Lien but this time under the direction of Yuen Wo-Ping who's probably best known for his stunning choreography in films such as Kung Fu Hustle, Drunken Master, Kill Bill: Vol 2 and the Matrix Trilogy.

Not many story details have been released so far but The Green Legend will mirror many of the themes set out in the original. And with Yuen Wo-Ping at the helm, you know you can expect breath-taking martial arts and intense action sequences.

The critically acclaimed original, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was directed by Ang Lee back in 2000 and won 4 Academy Awards, 2 Golden Globes and 4 BAFTA's as well as many other industry awards.

When is it out?

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend will premiere exclusively on Netflix and in selected IMAX® theatres towards the end of the summer blockbuster period on the 28th August 2015.
